Silent Auction

Silent AuctionThe silent auction raises money for the MMBA's advocacy efforts to protect mountain bike trails at the state level and to provide assistance to the Michigan IMBA chapters.

All items are donated by companies from all over.  The items are displayed at the silent auction with a full description and donor information.  Donors are included in promotional materials for the expo.

The MMBA thanks everyone for helping us protect and promote mountain biking in Michigan. The support of our silent auction participants is greatly appreciated and allows us to further our mission and spread our message throughout Michigan.

Want to make a donation?  Vendors who are attending the expo do not need to fill out this form. Silent auction information is included in the Exhibit Application for the Annual Expo. If you do not plan to rent a booth at the expo, you may donate items by filling out the Silent Auction and Raffle Donation form and submitting it with your donation.

Silent Auction Rules
By participating in the MMBA Expo auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.

  1. All items in the Silent Auction have bid sheets on the display table near them with a title that includes “item name and number” clearly printed at the top of each bid sheet. (Be sure to read titles prior to placing bids to ensure you are bidding on the correct item)
  2. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.
  3. When you want to bid, do so by writing your name, phone number, and email address.
  4. The opening bid on each item must be at least the minimum price listed. Bids must be in whole dollar amounts ($10.00, $11.00…$15.00, etc). Any bids not adhering to this format will be declared invalid and voided. If a name is crossed out, that bid will be considered null.
  5. Each subsequent bid must be a higher amount than the previous bid and satisfy the minimum raise to be considered a “valid” entry. You may exceed the minimum raise amount.
  6. Occasionally, items may be available for “Guaranteed Purchase” (or Buy Now). If you write your bid number opposite the amount labeled “Guaranteed Purchase” you have bought the item. This will conclude the bidding on that item.
  7. You may bid on any items in any silent auction section until it is closed and the auction has ended.
  8. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.
  9. Auctions will end at varying times throughout the day.
  10. The individual auction ending times will be randomly decided in advance, but known only to the auction volunteers.
  11. Once an item is closed, a silent auction official will circle the top bid number and amount. Winning bids will be announced once verified.
  12. All sales are final. There are no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted.
  13. All items are “as is.” MMBA has attempted to describe items correctly based on the information provided by donors. Bidders will be expected to read fine print included with bid sheets for any restrictions, exclusions, etc.
  14. The value listed is an estimate of fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless noted. The amount you pay above this fair market value estimate is normally tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax advisor to clarify amount of deduction.
  15. Payment for items purchased must be made in full on the night of the auction. We accept credit cards, cash, or check payable to “MMBA”. Please allow 30 minutes after the item has closed before reporting to cashier. Following payment, you will receive the item.
  16. Any item left unclaimed (before 2:30), without prior arrangements, will be sold to the next highest bidder.
  17. Each person bidding assumes all responsibilities related to the auction and items obtained at the auction and agrees to hold MMBA harmless from any liability.
  18. In the event of a dispute, the Auction Chair will act as final authority.
  19. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.
