Scat is a little "white kneed" ! He might need to get out of the woods and ride in the sun.
Enough of this BS.
Maybe we should ask the race promotors to make trail improvements before a race. I am sure our TC's know where there trail needs to be fortified prior to a race. Leverage a race to get trail improvements.

I have been part of work crews helping to get trails ready for races by reinforcing berms, limestoning bogs etc. They are way ahead of you on this point.

However, you can't plan for everything. Last weekends Pontiac TT was a good example of why this may be easier said than done. By the time my sport class went out the trail was 95% dry with two fairly large mud holes in spots where I had never seen them develop before. On the contrary, the section where I was expecting the 'lake' to appear, as it has over the last few years, was hardly noticable this time around.
Hard to predict mother nature.
