You still up for a ride tomorrow evening?

6:00 or later and meet at Lake Orion High School?

Let me know if you still want to meet up,

Yes, that is still good with me. I just ride from my house so let me know the time and I will be there. Park down behind the school on the lower level by the baseball fields. Anyone is more than welcome to join in the tour.

I'll be there as close to 6 as I can make it. Not sure what the traffic will be like that time of day so I might be a few minutes late.

Fun times last night. Not a soul on the trail. All downed trees have been removed. A few low limbs and face slappers as expected.

Trail conditions where fast... Sort of... Hikers everywhere! We started at 8am this morning and there were few others out. Every lap past the parking lot it was more and more full. We started seeing hikers with dogs (many off leash) everywhere. By our last lap I was literally afraid to go with any real pace as we couldn't see around any turns.

We also encountered a couple sets of bikers going the wrong way on the trail... scary.

I expect to either start at sunup or start checking out other trails.

Just rode the North unit. There are two downed trees blocking the trail on the downhill just past the Lake George entrance.
Aside from that, parts of the trail are pretty overgrown with lots of low branches, vines, and thorn bushes growing out into the trail. My forearms and shins got fairly scratched up from hitting them. The blue loop was the worst. I should have brought some pruning shears with me, but I forgot them.

I think I might try to get over there again this week with some clippers to clean up some of the face slappers, but the trees are going to require a chainsaw.

The two trees after lake george are still there. One you can ride through, the other you will have to dismount. Things are looking pretty shabby out there. lots of thorn growth taking over the trail. That one spot before the bridge on the North section along Harmon is still soupy. Recommend Addison instead.

This I find strange. The driest year I can remember and this spot is wetter than I've ever seen it.

Yes. Last week went over the handle bars there, and face planted into the mud. Harmless (soft landing of course) but spectacular.
I don't have a pickup truck but I would volunteer to go there one day and fill all that area with some gravel.

The south unit is in great shape this morning. Combining it with the LOHS trail will give you a 12 mile loop with something for everyone; singletrack, climbing, and fast sections.
