DNR has an "erosive trail conditions" warning posted.

I went out saturday morning. It was still below freezing, but the sun was out and there are too many wet spots.

I turned around and left.

Has anyone been out running or riding on the Poto lately?

Got in a couple of rides last week (Wed,Thur. ) Both Poto and Brighton are listed as open but with any amount of rain they will be wet in the useall spots. Go ride.

I did a double on Sunday. It is in good shape except for the Goesling Loop section. Either go right at the bench or go right on Patterson Lake Road for the next week or two.

Otherwise, it's in great shape.

I rode everything but the Goesline loop. Trail conditions are dry. I added the loop via stone fire place to make up for Goslione loop. Great ride..... enjoy.

Rode the entire trail, including Gosling. The trail is in excellent shape, althougth Gosling is pretty muddy in the usual spots. It's rideable, but there are some sections (after the new bridges) that are downright nasty (think thick tire sucking mud) beware as you will get coated w/ some mud fo sho. By the time we finished the ride most of the mud had fallen off of our bikes.


BTW: SWEET new trail bypass on the hills of *beep*. Fast flowing and a good climb to boot!!!!

Glad you like the new trail bypass in the hills, dirtdevil. I think it is starting to smooth out and is becoming a fun ride. A couple months ago, I still had some minor concerns about the off-camber turn at the "trough" of the reroute and the part where the new trail crosses the old trail. However, I believe these are now starting to set-up nicely simply through repetitive use patterns.

Oh yeah, it's a very fun, fast, smooth section now....LOVED it. My riding buddy almost lost it at the off-camber turn so I know what you're talking about. Once you become more familiar with the new section and can anticipate it, I don't think it will be a problem for most.

Watch out for one of the wetspots. You might think that the best thing to do is go straight through the middle. If you do, you'll find out that its about 15-16" deep. Right macromius and KonaDawg?

....I had "Easter Monday" off today, so I rode the Poto. Very good shape, and there are a couple mudholes in the same area. The guy in front of me attempted the deep one down the center, and fell off his bike in it.

Love those new boardwalks, no more riding down the gravel road when that area gets too wet.

On a sour note, someone dumped a busted marker-post halfway down a steep rooty-downhill. I stopped during my descent and tossed it off the trail. I'm thinking it was the other half of another post someone blasted the top off of with a shotgun.
