Anyone ridden Pando? What's it like, how many miles, what can someone expect? Any other trails you'd compare it to?

Last I knew, this trail is only opened during events that are hosted. This is private property.

Not true, it is a park with multi-use trails. The trail isn't anything special, but it does have two decent hills. Some of the trail is actually riding on grass. It is worth a ride if you live in the area, otherwise not so much. Be careful as it is a multi-use trail and people do hike on the trails quite often.

This should probably be clarified/verified since the trail guide Pando still claims, "The Pando trails are closed at all time except during races."

This is news to me. The wMMBA, Kisscross and Ada Bike tried to get Pando opened one day a week and that failed due to liability and archery target hunting. I suspect you just haven't been caught trespassing yet.

Rode Al Sabo today. Did two loops, and was pretty impressed with how smooth and flowy this trail is. It's not technical, but a fun ride through a beautiful area. There is one tree down that can be ridden, but will hit your chainring. There is one terrific downhill out here that is super fun.

What's not so great here is that it is HUGELY popular for walkers and their unleashed dogs. Almost nobody follows the posted leash rules, which doesn't really bother me. The dog crap on the trail DOES bother me. There were two of us out there, and we both ended up with multiple patches of it on the tires.

Otherwise, things are leafy in the woods, but good riding.

I'm sure it's still private property. My wife works with one of the family members, and I know for a fact that they're out there hunting this weekend. I've asked her to talk to him about letting me use the trails during the summer, but she hasn't yet.

For anyone in Holland looking to get out but not spend all day driving, Riley Trails is in the best condition its going to be in for riding right now. Once it snows it will be off limits for the skiers, but right now all the sand on the South end is firm making it all ride-able. The rest of the trail is firm with no mud. It was a fantastic morning this morning with the light dusting of snow last night (not enough to cover the trail). I was able to map a 6.45 mile route without crossing or doubling back on any trail by being able to utilize several of the Southern routes. If you haven't ever been out to Riley, go with someone who has as the spider web of trails can be confusing. Also make sure you're mindful of the other trail users out there (runners, hikers, dog walkers, etc.). Otherwise, its just a nice place to spend some time in the woods.

Ken-O-Sha park trail is in really good shape.....a few damp spots but not enough to cause ruts or damage. Was deserted last night.....not a soul on the trail.

...general question: Why is Pigeon Creek listed as a private trail on the WMMBA website? It's a County Park. Maybe it's a new public park?

Riley Trails update:

The area is currently being logged as a part of a forest restoration project. Only Holland 'Northsiders' tend to ride there, anyway, but in case you were curious what that looked like, I took some video yesterday: http://youtu.be/04-JHccLKPQ

It's a mess, but I've heard that there might possibly be an opportunity to create a new trail there once all the logging is done. I think it would be an easy place to build trail compared to what is happening at Upper Macatawa (there's not nearly the amount of elevation or clay). We'll see...one trail at a time

Upper Macatawa Cycling Trail was in great condition until the sun peaked out around 1:30 today. As long as the ground stays frozen, this trail is rideable. I don't know if we'll get the 2nd loop completely finished this year, yet, but it's really close.
