Fun 50 Summer or Fall Dates?

Postby alexyoung » January 26th, 2011, 8:18 am

Hi, I'm trying to plan out my "big rides" this year and I was wondering what dates the Fun 50 will be in either spring or fall, or both. If you could post up so I can write 'em down I'd appreciate it greatly! Thanks.

The first Saturday in June (the 4th this year) has now become the official ride date. If you want to help make it a smooth, deadfall free ride and enjoy more time on the trail, join us on a trail day this spring: http://www.mmba.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=102038

I think its obvious that 2 weeks is plenty of time to get em in shape to ride this...

i think bh means that it is michigan, who is going to acuratly predict the weather.... looks for averages for that date is september, then look at high and low,

a quick google for gaylord gives me
48 for low
58 for average
69 high.

Fall rides have been pretty nice weather every year I made it up. But then i am crazy too.

Any issues with moving it up a week for a shot at slightly warmer weather? I know that by the end of September, lows in the 30's are pretty likely and it would be nice to stay a little warmer.

I work the weekend before and after actually, but if the majority needs to I guess I could go by myself.

Joe - I might be game for carpooling (I'm in the Standale/Walker area) but I've gotta play it by ear with my workload.

Wonder if Tom is in for the Fun50. There is 1 thing for certain, I am not drinking the night before (ok maybe 1 or 2), especially not Hopslam....... My first experience on the HCP was not very much fun due to the hangover at least up til the lunch break. I caught my 1st wind after lunch

I figured I would be in contact with Tom and Rick before too long.
In the spring we went up earlier on friday and did a section on the NCT that was awesome. Hoping to do that again, and there was talk about doing some trailwork on sunday. Which would make the spring and summer rides a bit nicer as well.
