Trail suggestions - South of Traverse City

I'll be staying on Spider Lake later this month and am looking for some local trails to ride. I'm familiar with the VASA, any other suggestions?

I would check out the trail around Crystal Mountain. Its the same course that is used for Peak 2 Peak. I rode it last year and thought it was a ton of fun.

North Country Trail :D

It looks like the closest access is by Muncie Lakes. According to the map, it should be easily within riding distance from Spider Lake. From there, you can ride south/southwest clear down to M37 between Mesick and Buckley. B/W M37 and Beers Road you'd have to bypass a section closed to bikes.

Then, from Beers Road (Marilla) to Dilling Road... :D :D :D

Or, head east on the trail to Kalkaska. Note that a portion of this is shared with a horse trail.

Just east of M37, overlooking the Manistee River

Highbanks Rollaway, about midway between Baxter Bridge and M37

Kipp rd. NCT and Hanson Hills. Both are great trails along with the other NCT sections mentioned. Just got back last night from our house in that area and rode both and they are in great shape. The salmon fishing was even better :D .

This is a killer ride! Use the park and ride lot on West Kalkaska street just south of M72 and bring a sense of adventure. :)

Out of the others. Arcadia and the NCT section mentioned are as good as it gets in the lower peninsula.
