just be aware, the group camp is a little tricky to find. pull into the campground, turn right, just past the little guest parking area is a gated 2 track. take that back into the woods, sticking to your left. if Joe and I are doing our job right you'll see the campfire :D

as long as we get an early enough start we should have enough daylight. :)
Per weather.com PM showers.....30% chance. Start early, get back to camp earlier for more beer and food.

In the AM, are we on our own getting to the start, or is the 50 miler a loop from start to finish? We are with one car, 2 people, and wouldn't mind having it used as a drop car (space for three bikes, three people). Any chance there is a GPX file / Google maps track available, or is a printed map usually sufficient?

It's part of the loop for the 50 miler. We caravan up to the start (Osmun Road) leaving camp usually some time between 9 and 10.
Usually we spot 2 cars, one at Pigeon Bridge, and one just before Rattlesnake Hill, usually done by people opting for shorter rides. After people get back to camp, we'll head out and gather the cars.

I'm tentatively planning to ride bass-ackwards from "normal", riding from camp and finishing at Osmun Road, taking one of the Osmun cars back.

No cars, unless someone really wants to do the 35. Don't think we're going to have enough "organizers" to jockey everything around. I think we're planning on riding to Black River then hitting the road back to camp...

Fantastic experience riding the hcp this weekend. That trail is something different for sure. Here is a log of our ride http://app.strava.com/rides/1750649.

I hate to rain on the parade and declare summer over but before we know it, fall will be here and it has me wondering if a date has been set for the Fun 50 yet???

i have been informed the last weekend in september. Which sounds like what has been decided so we can all plan ahead, and it works with my current schedule.
So this year it looks like september 29th.

Good question! I might be down with that. Would save a lot of extra packing and screwing with putting up/taking down a tent. You guys had heat in the popup last June? I was very miserably cold in my unheated tent just recovering from a 2 week long cold.
