Do they have electric in the staff house? Was thinking of bringing a little electric heater to aim at me at night. Yes, I am turning into a wuss in my old age

Electricity, yes! Water, potentially yes, it will depend on the forecast as they won't turn on the water until it's warm enough to avoid frozen pipes.

Kewl! Now hopefully Mother Nature can melt all the snow for us before the 27th!

Thanks Glen and we'll see you in ~ 1-1/2 weeks!

Well, out of town for the 27th, and Mother's Day weekend the 11th. That's going to go over like a fart in church...

I'll probably be there anyway :)

So what is the snow situation going to be? Trail condition? Thinking about coming up to help out and staying thru Sunday.

Below is a link to a snow depth analysis map. Weather forecast at this point says highs in the mid 40's to around 50 for highs and low's in the low to mid 30's. Guess we just watch the snow depth map and keep our fingers crossed the white crap melts

We had a huge melt off but it got cold again. The good news is that it's going to be warm next week and we should be good to go for the 27th.

Can I get a sound off from all those that plan on making the first date?

UPDATE!

The snow pack is still pretty thick and it's going to be a crapshoot for this weekend. We have feelers out across the forest and if the snow dissipates enough we'll move forward. If not, May 11 will be the date for the big attack.

We'll let everyone know Thursday what the plan is for sure.

Thanks!

Update #2! Go east young man!

After some boots on the ground reports of the snow situation, the east side is melted down to the dirt and ready for trail clearing. We have a accommodations booked at the Clear Lake campground in the form of a mini cabin for those that are traveling a long distance. Bring a tent just in case and expect night time lows of between 25 and 40 degrees. As promised, we'll bring some food and refreshments and bring what you need to be comfy putting in a 6 to 10 hour day.

Updated dates are at nmmba.net or just read below.

High Country Pathway #1: Join us the weekend of April 29th for a full day of trail work beginning at 9AM Saturday on the Atlanta side of the trail. Camping will be provided at Clear Lake State Park on Friday and Saturday night. Snacks and meals will also be provided on Saturday. Bring camping gear, your bike, water, and anything you need to work and be comfortable on the trails all day. Contact president@nnmba.net for details or if you plan on attending.

High Country Pathway #2: Join us the weekend of may 11th for a full day of trail work beginning at 9AM Saturday on the west side of the Pigeon River Forest. Lodging will be provided along with food and snacks at the DNR bunkhouse off Sturgeon Valley Road in Vanderbilt. We’ll be staying overnight on Friday and Saturday. Bring sleeping gear if you plan to camp, also bring your bike, and anything you need to work and be comfortable on the trail all day. Contact president@nnmba.net for details or if you plan on attending.

Fireplace inside, fire pit outside and a stove!

The bunks may be dusty, plan accordingly!
