Komen Ride For A Cure - August 7 Ann Arbor

Postby 96m2comp » May 7th, 2010, 9:48 pm

Join a GREAT CAUSE by riding in the Inaugural Susan G. Komen Ride For A Cure August 7 in Ann Arbor. Link: http://www.komenmidmichigan.org/get-inv ... -cure.html

Or help support me toward my goal by following the link in my signature to make a direct donation!

75% of the money raised stays in the local community, while only 25% goes into the "National Pot".

Here is the 57 mile route mapped out on Map My Ride, IF the directions on the Komen map page are correct: http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-st ... 6330611567 This is the ride my wife and I are riding, not sure if either of the other routes have been mapped with elevation.

TY!
Chris

Using the 57 mile route directions I mapped out the ride on mapmyride.com to show the elevation. Original post edited with map link.

Thank you Alpha for posting the discount!

Geff, what route are you going to ride if you do this?

Just looking at this right now...I'll do the 54-57 mile loop up through the chain and then south to Scio Church and back to the start. Great looking loop.

Just reminded myself of this today. Got to fill up the card before signing up but have it circled as one to do.

Just over a week away! Anyone else participating in this great cause????? Help defeat this horrible disease before it affects someone you know and love! Unfortuneately I know first hand what breast cancer can do as my mother had it.

If not, you can still help out by making a donation, even a dollar adds up! Just click the link in my signature to donate on a secure website!

THANK YOU!

Is it OK if we show up and pay day of? I am still not home from Mac racing, but will be back in about another day or so.

Even if there isn't day of registration you can ALWAYS donate. And if you actually take the time to show up and donate who in their right mind would try and stop you from riding with the group? Just a thought.

While I don't see why they wouldn't let you sign up the day of the ride, you would have to pay the $75.00 registration fee and either have raised $500.00 (or more) to ride or pay the $500.00 fundraiser (after registration) yourself.

As we understand it, if we don't raise the $1000.00 ($500/each), we don't get to ride unless we make up the difference.

Hope to see you out there!

My wife was told that the "Donation fundraiser amount" was set so high to "Make an impact!". I agree it is a little to much. IMHO (for what it is worth!) the "donation fundraiser amount" should have been in the area of $250 or so.

If you decide not to ride, you could always help us reach our goal! (Shameless plug!)

Will do my best. Have contributed almost 500 to the 3 Day walk already to team Pretty In Pinkney. Just getting off the boat and looking at this racing season's $ toll, I will see what kind of scratch I can come up with. Sorry I can't "Make an impact!"
