You nailed it on the head. Great ride, but the ride down there just sucks.

I definitely don't blame ya Steve. Bald Mountain was more or less a soup bowl. I would NOT normally ride trails in that condition. Very hard on the drive train, and I had to nurse a bent/failing link on the way back from Bloomer. Still a pretty fun time overall.

Today's log, including the Bloomer leg:

Actual mileage was round about 65 miles. Log is roughly 20 percent short. By far the longest single ride I've done to date.

Next ride, and probably the last for the year:

I don't feel like getting heckled by single speeders all afternoon.

Although I could work on my technique of coming to a near stop at the bottom of a hill with a SS'er behind me.....

A) how would that be different than every other ride?

B) When it comes to hills, the SSers will already be ahead of the geared folks!

A) We can take care of that for you with some wire cutters.

B) I think you got that one down pretty good!

C) Thanks for B Pauly because you have really helped me with my technique of passing the slower or stopped geared folks on the hills!

Thinking about ending the season the way it started at Yankee Springs next weekend. I have a personal beef to settle with that place after my surgery so I am going one way or another. I am pretty sure Steve (AllMountain) is in. It would be nice to get the original group plus a few more to go. Let me know what you guys think.

Will Sunday April 15 work for the first ride at Yankee? A few people have said Sunday mornings will work better for them. What are people's opinions on this? I may or may not be able to go on the first ride depending on when my daughter decides to be born.

Sundays work for me this time of year. Pretty much all year, with the exception being football season.

Count me in.
