June 4 Public Info Meeting About 8 Mile Resurfacing Project

Postby jnwbiker » June 4th, 2013, 10:55 am

Not sure who to share this with, but there is a Public Info Meeting About 8 Mile Resurfacing Project on June 4.
Looks like the plan is to widen 8 Mile between Napier and Beck to include bike lanes. As well as finish the sidewalk between Beck and Taft.

From the Northville Schools e-mail:
"The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will conduct a public information meeting Tuesday, June 4th regarding the resurfacing of Eight Mile Road between Napier & Taft Roads. The meeting will be held June 4th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at Moraine Elementary School, 46811 W. Eight Mile Road, Northville, MI 48167."

Should the someone from the MMBA be there?

That'll be a nice option for a safer approach to Maybury - I hate riding up Beck road from Main street, up that hill with bumper to bumper rush hour traffic nipping at your heels....
Five fingers, three chords, and one *beep*.....!

I believe part of this project includes a path from northville along 8 mile with a new pedestrian entrance to the park at 8 and beck. Even without the path, bike access to the park should improve with the new wide shoulders that are planned.
