This partial list of Metro South Chapter events for 2010 includes mountain biking activities held within our chapter borders (both chapter and non chapter events). Check this page throughout the year for updates.

Metro South Quarterly Chapter Meetings

12/16/10 (elections) location- Station 885 in Plymouth- NEW DATE- THURSDAY!!!

3/15/10- Liberty Street Brewing 7 pm
6/14/10 Maybury State Park- ride before the meeting, enjoy some grilled food. Meeting starts at 7 pm at the shelter by the modern bathrooms.
9/13/10 (nominations) Ashley's Westland 7 pm outside if the weather is nice (reservation booked under MMBA) http://www.ashleys.com/where.html


Spring Trail Days: Trail days typically run 9am-12pm and sometimes 1pm-4pm also. There are usually bagels and coffee available beforehand, and we will usually grill to prepare lunch. Bring your bike to ride after the work is done! Most spring trail days are clean up days. Check the bulletin board for updates in case bad weather interferes. Other trail days throughout the year will be set soon, so check the board!

Highland Trail days, Saturday, March 27 & Sunday, March 28th
Maybury- Saturday, April 3rd (rain date Sunday, April 11th)
Lakeshore Park/Novi- Saturday, April 10th
Hickory Glen/Commerce- Saturday, April 17th
Rouge Park, Detroit- Sunday, April 18th
Island Lake Recreation Area (ILRA)- POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN. Check other threads for rain date.
Proud Lake Recreation Area- Saturday, May 15th
Tree Farm Relay preparation Trail Days- July 17th -23rd
Maybury CPS race preparation Trail Days- August 14th -20th

Take a Kid/Adult) Mountain Biking- Lakeshore Park/Novi- Saturday, April 24th
ILRA Demo Day- Saturday, May 8th (note: This is NOT an official Metro South MMBA event. It is, however, held at ILRA, a Metro South Chapter trail)
Ride of Silence- Hines Drive, Westland, Wednesday, May 19th (note: This is NOT an official Metro South MMBA event. It is, however, held in the environs of Metro South Chapter trails)
Milford Trail Challenge- Saturday, June 5th
Discover Rouge Park Days- Sunday, June 6th
BARF (Become a Radical Free Rider) at the FARM–Lakeshore Park, Novi- Saturday, June 12th
Rouge Park BBQ and tour of the new trail, 8/12/10 from 11am to 2 pm
just added- Saturday, Oct. 2nd- Rally at Monroe- late afternoon trail ride, picnic and then stay to watch the nighttime cyclocross races (more details soon)
Rouge Trail Day October 3rd
Island Lake Trail Day October 10th
Bike the Lights – Hines Drive (holiday light event), Westland- Wednesday, November 17th (note: This is NOT an official Metro South MMBA event. It is, however, held in the environs of Metro South Chapter trails)

Rouge Park, Detroit- Sunday, April 18th

It has regained interest and we have two TC's who will be planning/flagging that day along with some spring cleaning. They have some volunteers with some other city organizations to help with the trail work this summer.

Yeah we are a hard group to forget, I missed the Relay due to last minute work but I'm ready for this year.

The June mtg may be at Maybury State park with the trailer, grilled food, a ride and such- but it is still TBA

The others may be at Liberty Street, but they are TBA

Just added- Tour Rouge Park Trail- newly cut section. Enjoy grilled food with the SCA and Greening of Detroit volunteers who cut the trail. 11 am to 2 pm, Thursday, 8/12/10. Meeting spot to be posted soon.

Juts added- evening rally at Monroe- Saturday, 10/2. We'll ride the trail, grill on our new smaller portable grill and then watch to night time cyclocross races. More details soon. We think we'll start around 4 pm or so...

Plus, the meeting is 9/16- NEW DATE- THURADAY- location TBA. We NEED nominations as several board members are not running again.
