Purple,

I would say bring a chainsaw and pack plus post hole digger for road signs. Loppers, maybe? I know nelG has talked about renting a powered post hole digger but that presents its own challenges since we would be looking at 2-3 days rental.

It would be nice if we could get a little feedback on people who have ridden there recently to identify downed trees, etc. for work on Fri. and Sat. Any recent trail knowledge?

Yes to all of the above, and if you have a small bubble level and or a cordless drill, we may need them as well.

We've got brushing to be done on the east side of M33, but if you guys want to keep track of the worst dead fall areas like Jeff mentioned, we'll have a good idea where to focus clean up if any one isn't too hung over on Sunday. ;) If I can get a day or two freed up, I'll go do some rides before the big weekend and note problem areas as well.

IIRC, the short stretch between Chandler Dam Road and the long skinny boardwalk leading up to Tubbs Creek could use a brushing.

As of now, I'm planning on riding the 80 on Saturday, and sticking around to work on trail on Sunday.

With my current work schedule, I may be rolling in late on Friday :(

OH SNAP.

Hopefully the shortened riding time will force me to get fast on the bike. I don't have the luxury of 15+ hours a week riding, and taking off for 50+ milers during the day. So now I gotta use that just over an hour I have in the evening to it's fullest. Amazingly I actually remembered what an "interval" is  :D .

This + my large base from the spring/early summer hopefully = an Iceman time in the 1:45 range, and being able to hang with the top of the "B" CX group.

I was napping :) Actually, The Nelg has been busy preparing for the Logsplitter race. Now that it's over... I expect this place will wake-up?

Either I talked about myself in the third person like a douche or MudShine was using my login. ;)

Mr. Cook, a bunch of us will be working on Saturday dropping sign posts in at road crossings and if we have enough folks we'll be out brushing and cutting back face slappers on sections of trail. The shorter rides will happen in the afternoon and we'll do rides again on Sunday.

Those that are doing the 50 miler will be riding Saturday AM and doing trail work on Sunday. I'll be doing a scouting trip on Friday to work out the final game plan for the trail day sorting priority tasks and additional tasks pending the number of volunteers we end up with. If you want to bring a saw and backpack along with a bubble level and round nose shovel, you should be pretty versatile for the day.
