Custom Surly Large Marge rims laced up to American Classic hubs. That's an SS hub up front and a geared hub in the back. Why AC? Because they make really durable hubs that are lightweight AND easy to work on. Can't beat that combo, can you?!

No Larry on the front? I just did my first ever dirt ride at PLRA a couple weeks ago on my Fatbike, the Larry totally blows the doors off the Endomorph on the front. You get way more control at high speeds, sand,snow and dirt. A number of Fatbikers around the globe are also using dual Larry's front and back (back with tread reversed) in areas where they don't ride a lot of sand or snow, just dirt/rocky conditions. I prefer the Endo on the back for sand at beaches, and the dunes at ILRA.

Thanks for posting this, is this guy is local? I'd like to get in touch with him. A bit early to talk about winter, but it would be nice to get a group of Fatbikers together in winter and plow down local trails that don't have snowmobiling in one lap.

Yeah, the Larry is pretty sweet looking, but the Endmorph is a better all around tire IMO. We could debate this for hours I'm sure, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. As for the owner, well, they are local, maybe you'll catch them out at Maybury some time

Actually, considering your love of the slick rear Stans tire and the Schwalbe up front, I was surprised you would not be up for the Larry. Maybury & PLRA are the best places to test a Fatbike in the snow to see if a Larry works better. Maybury has more off camber sections than most trails in the area, and PLRA has some good steep stuff to really challenge a Fatbike. Strange, but I never had any issues in the snow at the Poto with an Endo up front, compared to Maybury or PLRA. The dunes at ILRA however, I find the most fun with the Fatbike, all year round. Thanks for sharing, good to see more people buying these; with more Fatbikes, we'll all have more winter laps on trails with no snowmobiles.

Well, we've been really busy busting out some ca-ray-zay stuff at C to F. By crazy, I mean awesome, totally tricked out sweet bikes! Here's the latest, a Niner Sir 9 set up as a singlespeed. This build is actually a customers winter bike. They wanted a 29r that was awesome, and wouldn't break the bank. We went with all SRAM products, and splurged on a few items. It came out AWESOME!!

That is one smooth looking ride! Gold frame and matching Niner gold steel fork. Steel Is Real BABY!!!




Those Niner forks look smooth and really take the edge off riding.


The Truvativ Stylo post holds up the Selle Anatomica saddle. The Selle Anatomica saddles are all handmade in Wisconsin, USA!!!

This is the new SRAM 406 hub. It is a nice affordable hub that is easy to work on, and we set it up as a singlespeed with the Surly spacer kit.


Hooked up with a Surly cog.


Check out the Niner BioCentric BB. This eccentric is super easy to set up.


We hooked up the wheels with Sun's SR25 rims set up tubeless with the NoTubes +4 29r kit and Kenda Small Block 8 tires. Great set up if you want fast rolling and durable.

Who doesn't love a Niner Jet 9?! They are awesome!!! This particular one is set up as a 2x10 with SRAM's new 10 speed components in the x9 series. 2x10 is awesome and gives you all the gears you need for Michigans trails. This Jet9 is also set up with RockShox's Reba XX to give you the cush to balance out Niners CVA virtual pivot suspension.


Looks great! If you are looking to buy a new full suspension bike, the Niner Jet 9 is where it's at! When it comes to 29 inch wheels, Niners ROCK! When it comes to full suspension, Niner ROLLS!!! Combine that, and you get ROCK AND ROLL BABY!!!


The Reba XX is one of the best performing 29r forks on the market. Easy to work with, easy to set up, and now they come in tons of different versions to fit on everyones bike. Want a G2 offset? Rebas will be available with G2 offsets for 2011. Standard offset? Still available!

I love the CVA suspension, it just works great! Add in a little red anodized flair to look great too.


Tapered steerer tubes are all the rage in 2011. At Interbike, we saw tapered steerer tubes on almost all the new 29rs. They are stiffer, and the bigger bearing supports the load better of the longer fork.


Salsa ProMoto carbon bars combined with the Salsa Moto Ace ti stem for a droolworth control center.


This bike also has Avids new Elixer 3 which utilizes Avid taperbore technology in a more affordable package.


The new x9 comes in some snazzy new colours, and also adds a carbon cage to the rear derailleur. High end trickness that won't break the bank.


Look at all those gears! 10 speed in the back courtesy of the new 1050 12-36 cassette from SRAM.


Your seatpost collar has been pimped!


Small frame? No problem with the new Dimension sidemount cage! Sidemount waterbottle cages were named one of Mountain Bike Actions best innovations, and they work great.

Haha, thanks for noticing! I actually did buy the aforementioned jumbo bag of coloured zip ties from the Depot, however they are just not as strong as the standard issue white ones. We'll use them occasionally, but most of the bikes we send out of here with the pretty coloured zip ties always come back for their 30 day check up missing 1 or 2. I can talk all day about zip ties and the quality of zip ties, where to buy them, and who has the best ones all day long, but to cut a long story short, the standard issue white ones work pretty darn well and, well, white goes with everything

One benefit to the good-quality black ones (as opposed to the natural / white ones) is that they are UV resistant and don't become brittle over time when exposed to sunlight. Those colored ones are (as you mention) often just cheaper plastic and not even nylon.

(Now, if only the SRAM Flak Jacket red housing was the same way... <sigh> That stuff goes to crap after a season of riding.)
