What makes women get into the sport?

A place to discuss issues specific to women, from jerseys and shorts to tips and techniques. Men are welcome, but unhelpful, sarcastic comments are not.

Found this thread last night during a bout of insomnia. Hilarious...read most except the hunting stuff (wrong thread). If I was single (not), one woman's perspective....
What works? Beer.

What doesn't work? Someone you've never met waiting until you're a mile or so into a rural, unfamiliar trail...begging for some water, mentioning that you're looking to hook up with an "active" woman who has her own place because your last girlfriend kicked you to the curb and you're living in your car in the parking lot. Then mention that you think she poisoned you while stopping to catch your breath every two minutes on your commuter bike with fenders. One word....creepy. If your using free wi-fi at your local library and reading this...sorry to offend but go back to pick up line school. Made me ride faster just to get away so at least I can thank you for the conditioning.

So, for you singles out there, group rides, parking lot stuff afterwards, and it appears that there may have been some love (albeit temporary) connections on this site.

more than love connections... people has gotten married from meeting here! and divorced :(
and looking again ( just to meet biological needs ;p

nah... I take everything back. I realized my posts on this board seem of a desperate chick in search for a man, but I'm not.
I like the teasing and joking; which woman doesn't love attention? So everything is in good fun, and I don't want people here to misinterpret my posts.

Yes it is true that I met my ex husband on this board when he posted about his Patrol class. We had almost five years of true love; but love cannot conquer all.

I am grateful for the experience. I met wonderful people through Bill, and I miss the game parties at the Mosses.

I have stayed away from MMBA activities and even the trails. Everything reminds me of that man. Divorcing the love of your life means constant heartache. I hope someday it heals.

And I doubt very much there is someone out there capable of meeting my biological needs the way he did, so I'm giving that up too!

( wherever he is: be happy! )
