Tom, be glad to have you! But, it's too wet--got too much rain last night and it's still raining now. I'm cancelling my plans to ride today.

But let's try again in a week! Same ride plan, Saturday 10/9--hope everyone can make it!

Radar looks good for now. Hasn't rained here for a few hours and the sun keeps peaking in and out. I still Plan on heading out to Burchfield around 1:30. I am sure the trails will be ride able without doing any damage to them.

Trails were in great shape! Felt a lot warmer in the woods as well. Wish more of you could have made it out.

Got in a total of an hour and a half ride, an hour of it with Reid and a different Steve until a branch ended my day. Bent my rear derailleur hanger pretty bad and had to limp home in one gear. I can't wait to get my SS!

I plan on going back out tomorrow from around 10:00-12:00 if anyone cares to join me. Like I said trails were in great shape, very few wet spots at all.

Amazing what a difference a few miles will make--it's barely stopped raining up here in East Lansing. Just a peak at the sun once or twice and pretty steady drizzle to heavier rain all day. I got some errands done at least! Glad some folks got out there anyway...

Tommorow, eh? Maybe--see how the day plays out!

Always trust the guy who's back yard is Burchfield! Would love for you to come out tomorrow. Going to have to be early for me though. Got Plans around 1:00 and later as well.

Yeah, too bad I didn't see your post 'til almost 3! I'd already given up on riding and gone off to other things. Got my gear together this evening, though--I'll hope to see you at 10 at the Riverbend...

It turned out nice, a bit slick here and there, but a good ride anyway. Steve and I checked out Swamp Thing after Shaun's bike broke, and it was nasty. We only walked the bridges from the back side, and even walking on them was risky. I don't know if they'll be okay tomorrow or not. It should probably not even be open, unsuspecting riders could get hurt out there. Other than that, though, we rode most of the trails and they were all fine.

Got my bike fixed as soon as I got home so I am all set for tomorrow. See you there.

All I can do is laugh man. I was mad at first but hey, it's just poo right! Thanks again for coming out and the ride home.

I really wish people would respect the rules though. There are are signs that clearly say NO DOGS! I don't really have a problem with dogs out there but at least have them on a leash and don't let them crap all over the main trails.

Steve,
What are the ride locations / times you're looking at for this Sat 10/9?
Not sure how the day will work out yet but if I'm avail, I'd like to join for at least a part of it.
Thx

Hi Overdrive--weather forecast is looking pretty good for saturday! (knock wood) I'm shooting for getting out of East Lansing around noon, so arrive at Anderson at 12:15 or so, ride there for an hour give or take, then drive to Burchfield and ride there for a while. I'd figure on getting to Burchfield around 1:30 or 2.

Anyone unfamiliar with the location of either trail is welcome to meet me in East Lansing (I can suggest a couple of spots right off the highway) and follow or carpool to Anderson then to Burchfield. I can also offer directions for folks that prefer to meet at the trail. Should be a fun day!
