The fix was in before the poll was started. Our glorious "leaders" decided what was best for us. The lowest common denominator was again allowed to take hold, any controversy was eschewed, and the forum is now safe for 7-year-olds.

I don't know where 11/1 came from, but there was never a set date by the admins or mods.

What gave that impression was that the survey had a closing date - 11/1.

Didn't your poll say voting would be until Nov. 1st?

Poll was setup with an arbitrary expiration date, but that had nothing to do with any timeline for the decision or the deletion of the forum.

We'll find out in 10 days, eh?

Of course, that won't be a foregone conclusion like this was.

Regardless of what you want to assume about this forum, the facts were the facts, people wanted it gone. Usually one day of voting is all that is given.

Not an assumption. The die was cast prior to the poll. Pardon my cynicism, but I believe the poll was only there for "cover".

"Those who cast the votes decide nothing; those who count the votes decide everything." - Josef Stalin

C'est la vie. Our glorious leaders have spoken. The protestations of the membership is rendered irrelevant. Enjoy the Brave New World of the IMBA/MMBA.
