2011 Annual Meeting & Expo

Postby Di_bear » December 3rd, 2010, 2:09 pm

January 30, 2011

Michigan State University Pavilion
4301 Farm Lane, East Lansing, MI 48824

We will have the swap meet and the silent auction, this year. There will also be an opportunity to ride bikes! AND FOOD! Michigan State will provide vendor services within the pavilion.

For more information, visit the Annual Meeting and Expo web page.

Questions and Comments

I invite questions and comments, but I ask that you please be patient with replies. Note that the swap meet currently does not have a time or information about paying for tables because I am still working out the details for that (seeking wise council).

Volunteers

We will need volunteers to help, this year. I would like minimize the time that everyone works so that they can all take time to enjoy the expo. The more volunteers we have, the easier we can do this. If you have been unable to volunteer your time and services to the MMBA, this past year, and you are able to attend the expo, then this is your opportunity to help out. :-)

The following are estimates:

Vendor check-in - 2
Swap meet sign-up - 2

Membership/Merchandise table - 3

Silent auction - 3
Silent auction check-out - 4

Morning set-up - 4
Evening clean-up - 4 to 8

If interested, please send an email to communications@mmba.org or send me a private message.

No flier. We're still working on the featured speaker(s). I'm thinking we might not do a poster, but I'm sure we could come up with some sort of flier.

Flyer, poster, doesn't matter but something needs to be done so we can spread the word. Don't need to wait until a speaker is confirmed, the event itself is what needs to be announced.

Well, I could prepare a flier, probably tomorrow, and post a link here for everyone to distribute.

Of course, if someone else (with better software - not hard to top me on that) wishes to design a flier that would be cool.

To all

I will create some small flyers with CPS information on them - probably half sheet size so as to save some paper.
I will place them at the main tables in the entrance and also have them available during the presentation of the CPS awards.

I won't utilize a booth location for CPS but will just circulate. The CPS awards presentation time will subsitute for our "booth"

Reminder to Chapter Presidents and Program Coordinators

Please let me know if your chapter is going to have a vendor booth at the expo so I can add you to the list.

Email or PM is fine. Just do it now. ;-)

Thanks!

Okay, I did the best I could with what I have. There are two fliers: one is black and white, one is color.

Black and white: http://www.mmba.org/images/expo/2011-annual-meeting-and-expo-bw.pdf

Download, print, distribute. :-) Please.

They can go to MMBA.org to check it out. People usually do look up the event before going. Now, I just have to come up with something for the main page.

Nice job Di the flyers look great, but I agree that the time should be on there.
