2010 Volunteer of the Year - Dave Cox

Postby Loren » January 31st, 2011, 10:46 am

Congrats to our Metro South volunteer of the year - Dave Cox!

Like a messy kid, Dave leaves his fingerprints everywhere. Be it a trail day, a chapter meeting, event planning - if it's a Metro South activity, Dave's always there to help and contribute. In addition, Dave organizes our highly successful Tree Farm Relay, and some how manages to find a way to make it bigger and better each year. Behind the scenes, Dave donates many hours and resources from his company to design and produce brochures, event posters, flyers, tshirts, and other graphics that help to bring attention and quality to our events.

Dave is truly one of the foundation stones of Metro South, and we're lucky to have him.

Thanks everyone! I have to say, Loren's words were really, really touching. That means a lot coming from one of my great friends! I really appreciate the award and did not even remotely expect it. Of course, working on trails and events is so easy when you have a wonderful group of friends who make doing volunteer work so much fun. Every trail day, every event-planning meeting and every event is just another excuse to hang out with good people and improve our mountain biking experience. Getting involved with mountain biking and the MMBA has been one of the best experiences in my life, and it's because of the people that have become lifelong friends of mine. Thanks so much!

I have to say, I really enjoyed working with you on the brochure. I am a big fan of your process. ;-) Congratulations, Dave! ...and I totally agree.

Thanks Loren for those outstanding words to describe one of the most sincre and hardest workers the MMBA has ever had. Dave is a very dedicated memeber and is very humble in his position. Not am I only proud to work side by side with Dave but more proud to call him my "friend"!!! Well desreved Ghetto D!!!!
