There are several low spots on the trail that are wet most of the year:
1) the beginning of loop 1 - about 50 yards off of Garden Rd
2) on the connector trail between the Garden Rd trail head, and the railroad tracks, at the bottom of the hill from which loop 2 starts
3) at the start of loop 3 (near the RR crossing)
The park really doesn't have the resources to do anything about this. It would be good gesture on the part of our user group to purchase some limestone fill, and shore up these sections. Although I haven't discussed this specifically with the DNR (I would be willing to do so), this type of thing has been done in the past by other user groups (specifically the equestrians), and shouldn't be a problem.
comments?
