Sorry for my rant. A pm would have been more appropriate.

This forum is for trail conditions at Holdridge not biking politics! Feel free to PM users if needed but please use the forum for trail conditions.
I removed several trees today, and all of Holdridge was in excellent condition when I left at 8:30pm Thursday evening. Grubers was rolling very fast!

I will be out Monday with the MMBA trailer and need at least one volunteer to run the other DR trimmer on the North. We were short a couple trimmers last week end as they needed repair. I repaired one and we replaced one yesterday. Anyone can call me @ 8106103478 Thanks in advance Ron

North loop got a ton of love on Sunday, looks like a freeway. Andy and I opened up mile 13.5 - 15 on Grubers today, if U get face slapped there you're not on the trail. TC Ron

Rode all of the West loop, including the lake loop and a double tap on the tech loop. Also rode all of Gruber's. Everything is high and dry. The only issue I have to report is a downed tree right after you cut onto Gruber's from the North trail. You cross the dirt road and there is a good sized tree blocking the entrance to the trail. You could literally cut it up and throw it into a P/U on the side of the road.

Kudos to whoever built the stunts on the West loop and on the tech loop. The log rides are pitch perfect and a ton of fun. The 3 foot drop(is it really 3 feet?); the rock features... all spot on. The log ride early on Gruber's is great as well. I like the side log pile exits.

Holy slow pace Batman!:

GPS shorts quite a bit out here. Guessing this should look like around 21 miles or so. Even so- four 10 minute miles on Grubers. This trail makes you earn it, but it's a nice challenge. I'll be back, since it's easily the closest difficult trail for me.

Thanks for the post, it is unlawful to remove trees from state land dead or alive but I will remove it from the trail Sunday about noon. There is about 24 miles of trails including the North and Turtle beginner trails at Holdridge. That's why volunteerism is important. they are high maintenance trails. thanks again; T.C. Ron

Wilderness Trail: The main loop around campground north of McGinnis Road is heavily trimmed with painted roots and rocks (from triathlon?). Visibility is great. If you haven't ridden this trail, it's great for anyone from new to expert riders. The section from the overlook trailhead parking lot is a bit overgrown but still doable.

SEPTEMBER 10th, 9am-3pm Trail Day=Trail conditions = volunteer response.

The DNR does not provide manpower to maintain this trail system.
Your Secretary of State park fee does not fund them to do so.
Holdridge trail maintenance is 100% dependent on MMBA members and friends who volunteer.
Please take some time out to give back to the trails that you enjoy!

*HOLDRIDGE TRAIL DAY* This Saturday September 10th, 9am-3pm

Bring gloves, safety glasses, plenty of fluids (critical in the heat),
energy snacks, bug repellent and backpack.
Lunch provided after.

Please arrive at trail head prior to start time for instructions and prep.

You should edit that.... the first line says September 20th (a Tuesday), and the next one says September 10th - this coming Saturday.

During my commute to Auburn Hills this morning, I noticed some MDOT vehicles on the expressway shoulder... and what looked like a small bob cat like front loader digging... and appeared to be very close to the East loop trail. The spot is just after you pass the cut out to end of Hess Road... and start climing thru open meadow by the pine trees. We may want to check that area prior to or during trail day this Sat. Hopefully they were not too close... but it looked that way just driving by.

Replaced the signs for Orchard and Meadows, the bob-cat that was seen off I75 has a brushhog on the front and is being used to clean the brush along I75 to make your journey more beautiful.
There is a lot of limbs on the trails! T.C. Ron
