5th! Annual LOHSMTB and Fat Bike Race Postponed to Feb 25

Walked the trails today at LOHS and while some parts of the trail could be ridden, too much is not ready. Don't want to damage the trails when they are most fragile. We are rescheduling the Winter MTB race for Saturday the 25th at 10:00 am.



It's hard to believe but this year is the 5th annual winter MTB race at Lake Orion High School. This is the race that started it all for the MiSCA/LOHS/GAP partnership. The trails and facilities are the perfect place to hold a winter race; paved parking, heated locker rooms, and depending on the weather, plowed singletrack and packed snowmobile trails.

Below are some pictures of last year's course prep to see what we do to get the course ready to ride. Also a link to a video during the race(Actually it's a selfish thing because we try to keep the trail cleared all winter so we can ride) A link to race registration will be added in the next day or two. There's a guy on MTBR compiling a list of Fatbike races around the world, most being US. Bob mentioned the LOHS, last I checked it wasn't there. Check it out, you might pick up a few guys from Ohio/PA. In a another "Fat Bike race thread" someone from that area was looking for something closer than WI & Iowa.

It will be 100% dependent on snow and weather conditions. So most likely it will be in the week leading up to the race, and sometimes the day of.

Less that three weeks to the 5th annual LOHS winter race on Feb 4! We have to see what Mother Nature throws at us before we can decide on the race course we will use.
