Rode it today. Absolutely top notch conditions. There wasnt even that much issue with the leaves. Even cranked out a couple PR lap times!

Apparently, the deer can tell when they're safe, as I saw 20+ on my ride this afternoon - more than I've EVER seen there, ever!

Otherwise, the trail was in pretty good condition, save a bit of deadfall from the recent winds. A couple of puddles and a few greasy spots were dispersed over the trail along with some new dirt and very few leaves (oddly enough ;)). The trail is in VERY good late Fall condition. :D

A couple of equestrian riders rode a section of are trail ,it was because of a fallen tree on there trail . I will take care of this problem right a way .

There is a lot of stuff down in the park , just before the end of the trail there is a big tree that is in the worse possible spot . Just before the log roll where the tree root stick way up there is a big tree about waist high . I walked the last couple of miles and picked up quite a bit . The park is closed tomorrow for the hunt {dec.1st} but I will be in there Friday afternoon to get it picked up . Thank Pauly

I took most of the day off my real job and went to the park to work the trail . I took my saw and removed 14 trees that fell across our trail , I ran out of time to walk and remove all the dead fall that came down . The trail is very wet and slippery be careful as I haven't removed all the snow from the bridges . You can count on some limbs and and possibly a tree or two to be over and on the trail post up if you come upon anything Thanks Pauly .

Remove the snow from the bridges? Are you using a snow blower out there also? :)

I'm new to mtbing this year, and with the weather change, recent rain, etc. I dont want to go back out and tear up the trail.

When is a good time to get back out to addison oaks? I would really like to continue riding this winter, but dont want to ride a soupy mess. Its also an hour + drive. Whats a good rule of thumb to use, or is it game on any time?

Thanks

Leah

The general rule of thumb now should be wait until the trail stays frozen - likely when the temperature stays below freezing for the whole day. You can often get a ride in the morning, before the trail defrosts, but that is usually kinda iffy.

This weekend looks good though. :)

As I suspected, the trail was pretty darn nice today. Frozen/snow-covered except where exposed to the sun, where there was some melting.

There are a few trees down, all between the intersection of the new section and the old trail and the Lake George 2-track. some are rideable, and some are not. There is a big one down about 1.5 miles in that will require some ...maneuvers. After Lake George, the first half and the entire second half were surprisingly clear other than the occasional deadfall or face-slapper.

It looks like tomorrow morning will be your last chance until next weekend. Get out and enjoy it. Just keep your head up! :D

Road Addison today. The trail was in great shape. Just get there early so you don't ride on it when it softens up. No down tree's and I didn't really notice the snow.
