Another fan of DT, but for a couple cents per spoke extra I typically go for the Comp double butted spokes. Cant go wrong with brass nipples but I;ve used alloy with limited success as well. Couple thousand miles on my 32H Bontrager/M525 laced with comps and alloys without a single issue, but I build those quite carefully and lubed each nipple to eyelette interface during assembly. Other wheels with alloys have no held up so well for me.
