From your previous posts, I understand you want to get into touring. I wouldn't recommend using a kickstand on a heavily loaded touring bike for the following reasons:
1. It can sink into soft soil due to the weight of the bike, causing the bike to topple over.
2. A standard kickstand can be damaged since they typically aren't designed for the heavy loads of a touring bike.
3. Kickstand have actually been known to damage certain bike frames. Here's a tech bulletin from Surly about it.
http://surlybikes.com/info_hole/spew/ki ... l_truckersFor touring, I recommend leaning the bike on something solid, such as a tree, with a reusable wire tie (or velcro strap) around the front brake lever to keep the bike from moving on its own.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Kickstands also aren't cool.
