My 11 stumpjumper carbon HT was 2300 complete. Your number is bit high.

Ok, how about this... Like all of us who don't have two grand lying around to spend on a frame that we actually want to ride. If I buy a carbon frame, it's not going to be a hard-tail XC bike, because that's not my dream bike. And if I'm going to spend more than $2000 on a build (which is more than I've ever spent on a bike build), it's going to be my dream bike when it's done. To stick with the Santa Cruz theme here, it will be something like a carbon Nomad: MSRP = $2699, or a Blur LT: MSRP = $2576. And yes, those prices are for the frame and rear shock only.
I'm just here to ride...

I would love to see that happen.

On a serious note, carbon is where it's at not only weight but vibration purposes.

I guess it's a good thing I won't be doing any of that to my frame. I'll stick to riding it instead. :D

Nice video. Back in the real world, I know someone that broke a carbon frame when the wind blew it over and it landed on something which poked a whole straight through the frame.

I believe I caught you drooling over my aluminum bike a couple of times. In fact, didn't you threaten to steal it? ...speaking of "steel."

Could we get some more info? Brand? Production year? Proof? You know what they say... Pics or it didn't happen. I know a guy who knows a guy whose sister's brother's fiance's cousin died because his carbon frame spontaneously combusted when a small pebble flew up off his front tire and hit the down-tube

Yeah, you caught me, I just made it up.

Cannondale (I think)
1.5 or 2.5 years ago at a Kiss Cross Halloween cross race
Bike owner worked at Ada Bike
I saw some "before" pictures at Jack Kunnen's web site. The owner had attached a cardboard horse head to the front of his bike as part of his costume of being a cowboy. That is what caught the wind that blew it over.... or I just made the whole story up.

oh, it was a crackenfale.....

I once met a woman, who was riding a tandem bike with her husband, and it was part carbon fiber, and it failed...and I did see it with my own eyes.

Oh my do you also drive an Aztec? Call me crazy, but I'm questioning the engineering and not necessarily the material.
