Fun race, hoping to make it this year with my Dad again. So is it about a 15 mile loop now? Just curious.

The one lap will be around 15 miles and the two laps will be about 27 miles. Starting at the overhang we'll head down the road and turn onto the shorter loop, hit that, then some riding around the school and then the whole loop clockwise. The new section adds some climbing and more opportunities for the spectators to watch. Good Stuff

Thanks Jeff, sounds great. Going to have to get my Dad training a bit this year, thought I was going to have to fetch him out of there last year!

Am I correct in assuming that the new stuff is part of the "riding around the school", as opposed to single track in the woods? You are correct though, t will be nice for spectators to get to see a bit more of the race. Since the Sweat Shaker is now part of the CPS, are you anticipating more riders for this race? By the way, I love this race and think the trail is an extremely enjoyable ride.

The "new stuff" is 1.5 miles of additional singletrack that was put in late last year, and it rocks. It is located close to the tennis courts behind the school, so it will be easily accessible for spectators. It may be the best section of singletrack on the course - fast and flowy with lots of climbs and descents.

Wow...I'm excited to see this new section...but am having a hard time picturing where the tennis courts are located. Is this new stuff in that small section after you cross the road and before you come out into the parking lot (basically the south west corner)? Or is it located over on the main, longer section of the trail where you would start if going clockwise? I assume it was added sometime after the Sweat Shaker race? I didn't make it up there late season last year, so now I am excited to get up there this Spring to see this new singetrack. Is this new piece an offshoot of the original trail you can ride as "optional", or did you guys re-do the trail such that this new section cannot be avoided?

Yes, it's in the section after you cross the road before coming into the parking lot. That section was 1.5 miles long... it's now a 3 mile section. It was added in late September.

Raced this race last year. I hope more people attend this years race because once they ride here people are going to be asking why wasn't this part of The CPS series sooner? Awesome course and great swag!

I could be wrong, but I do not believe that the Rust Shaker is part of the series. As I understand it, the Sweat Shaker (run on the same trail but in the opposite direction), which is held in late June is part of the series, but not the race this Saturday. Still, it is a very enjoyable race and I hope we get a few more racers this year nonetheless.
