NMMBA: Hanson Hills

Rode the outer loop- you guys have done a lot of work to put in all those miles! Not too sandy, but as it is still new in some sections, it was squishy. We saw one tree down- I think it was the same as the guy posted on August 8th. This is a trail for those who want to work on climbing!!!

Rode the yellow loop Tuesday morning 2 trees down 1st one at 2.47 miles and the 2nd at 3.77 miles. The trail
is riding a litle slow right now. The Grayling and Kalkaska area has had alot of rain and wind lately which
brought down 90-95% of the leaves. Most of the trail is covered in wet leaves and it can be a little tricky seeing
the roots and rocks. I had a couple close calls but overall it was a great ride. Still one of my favorite trail systems
in Michigan.

I see they are going to start their snow guns tonight. Will that affect the mtb trails? I
Going upnorth this weekend and hoping to ride there.

Rode Hanson Hills today. Not a bad ride considering the snow. Obviously not setting a PR today but still fun to get out and ride. If your in the Grayling area and dying to ride, head on out to Hanson Hills.

That looks like perfect light snow single track conditions. I love trail like that.

You are kidding right. At our place on Manistee Lake which is in Kalkaska, from what im told we still have
3+ feet on the ground and we were just up there last weekend when we got snowed in. Granted it will melt fast
this time of year, but I wouldn't count on next weekend.

I stopped in there tonight, just out of curiosity. The Grayling / Houghton Lake area has seen the most snow this season. It's spotty around the trail head at HH, but in the woods there's still a lot of packed snow. Same for the trails up in Kalkaska. But it's melting fast and it won't be long, because as soon as it's clear of snow, it'll be dry.

Anyone know the condition of the trails? Looking to go riding somewhere this weekend and it's a personal Fave!

I rode the main loop and extension this afternoon. It is 100% clear of snow and there are only a few trees down that i couldn't ride over or around. Stellar conditions, get out and ride it!

i'm planning a trip for hanson hills this sunday. How are the trail conditions? anyone been out on the trail within the past few days?

Hanson is good to go. Ive been out there 3 times in the past week. All the trees have been cleared. Enjoy!

Found Keys, and turned them in to Hanson Hills employee. I have ridden the Main loop, Trail is good, there is a tree across the trail on the 1.4 mile extension.
