Trees are gone. I was there yesterday and the trail was in great condition. A few spots were a little soft, but no mud or standing water.

CRAMBA: Addison Oaks

Postby Alexg » March 28th, 2012, 6:45 pm

Rode Addison tonight. The dirt was great there were no down trees but some brush on the ground. Got a stick wrapped around my rear hub but it didnt do any damage luckily. The only problem was a couple of riders going backwards on the trail. Otherwise great night.

How do you get backwards on Addison? I can understand it at Bloomer, but Addison?

It wouldn't be hard, depending on where you start. if you are on the paved path and cross the bridge, you might stay right on the paved portion and then see the trail on your left. Then you would be riding the reverse direction. Or riding elsewhere in the park and saw the trail and decided to ride it. Or maybe they just did it for the heck of it?

I think they apologized but I just told them they were going backwards and kept going. They said something but I couldn't hear them well. I didn't run into them on the next lap so I guess they turned around.

Rode the trail this afternoon and it it in good shape. Watch out for the two long ruts on the fast downhill toward the lake.It is also a little slick on the corner at the bottom.

From what I saw the large one along the right looked like an attempt at drainage. Almost caught my tire in it yesterday. It's a bit... awkward there.

rode on Wednesday, trail was great, but I noticed someone cut out one of the good ol knucklebuster trees where I use to have to wobble my widebars real quick to miss them... I'm not good at explaining where, about half way in I guess, mostly all pretty skinny trees, but one is cutoff at the ground now. I'm sure I'm not the only one to notice?

Also, the blue tarp on the downhill to the lake was blowing and flapping all over the trail, almost caught me off guard.
I likey da' bikey.

A Trail Day will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Addison Oaks County Park by the Clinton River Area Mountain Biking Association. Rain date will be the following Sunday, April 15.

A reroute of the Fall Line (Telemark) hill is planned, as well as general start-of-season trail clearing (depending on available manpower).

Participants should assemble at 9 AM at the Concession Stand, and sign safety waivers and get work assignments. Participants should bring sturdy shoes, water to drink, and be prepared for trail clearing (nipping and pruning brush) and benching work. A bike may be helpful for transport to the work area.

Free entry to the parking lot that day is confirmed. Just let them know you are there for the trail day.

If you have questions, please post up.
