Where do you keep it when riding? Your body is a mighty fine GPS signal blocker, and the phone is likely designed to receive the GPS best signal when level, with the screen facing up.

well, I have kept it in my camelbak for 3 rides so far this year, understandable that I am losing some signal.
When I run, I keep it in my hand. Not understandable as to why I lost 1.5 miles off my last run because of a lack of gps signal.
It's been more accurate in the camelbak then it has been in my hand.
