Cool. Looks like a few cheater lines have opened up since I raced there last. During the s-turn sections towards the middle of the run, you used to have to take the rocky shoots. It looks like lines opened up around some trees that made that section a little easier. (I saw where you cut a corner on the first right that used to be taped off. Used to be the site of some pretty good crashes.

He's right, that second fire road section is super fast and the turn back into the woods is sketchy. One year they had a one of those trailers with the police radar. Pros were hitting near 50 mph heading into the woods.

To me was the scariest part about racing there was not the actual race but the practice. They had open practice and you had everybody from pro to beginners trying to ride the course at the same time. Having a pro come flying up behind you when it is all you can do to hold on much less get out of the way is extremely intimidating. I swear there were times I wanted to curl up in a ball in the middle of the trail and cry. Ha ha. Those guys are so fast.

the second fire road section used to be longer, the turn back into the trail is new.

Practice wasn't too bad for me. What was kind of *beep* was that they had beginner women race right before junior expert. My girlfirend got caught and passed by 2 guys, which is to be expected but, essentially it ruined 3 peoples race runs.

I don't know what the course looked like before (cheater lines), I just stayed between the tape and had a good time. Gonna be a fun season.

I thought the fireroad looked shorter. Right at 2:55 on your second link, I think you used to have to go to the left of the tree. It was a really hard right turn that killed a lot of momentum and then made it real hard to make it down those rocks you see on the left line. People would endo off them. It's probably a lot more fun the way it is now!

Yeah I rode the outside/high line most of practice until one of my buddies pointed out that inside line. Honestly I don't know which was faster. The inside line was tougher to enter, but set you up better for the next corner.

Snowshoe, WV is on the 9th/10th of June. I won't be able to make it, but I know kickstand is planning on it.
