Thats strange, the slash always seams to get blurred in with the rest of sign after first drink or two.

Next venue?

Addison Oaks. Alcohol's allowed there - they just ask that it be in unbreakable containers. Put those hydration reservoirs to really good use while showcasing what Pauly's been up to.

Where did someone hear that alcohol is not allowed at any state park?

I was just at silver lake and they allowed drinks of the alcholic nature

and i know at the straits park people drink a lot when the car show is up their(although i dont know if it is allowed or if it is just not enforced)

I for one dont think the location should be changed, it introduces a lot of people to lakeshore park that might not otherwise come out, and it is a fun place to have a party with things for everyone to do including kids (sorry Laura)

I don't think Novi is lacking riders or new people to the park..which it needed a few years ago at the first BBBB. With 40 Plus riders every Tuesday I think it is safe to say there are plenty of new riders being introduced to Novi evey week.

As for drinking and family stuff, Maybury or ILRA even both offer just as many things to do for the family...drinks I'll look into, because I didn't consider that yet. But I know some parks allow beer, but not liquor ? and the unbreakable container thing is also a big issue.

The committe is the group who will be picking the location, planning the events, prizes, and BBQ...if you want to be involved now is your chance. 2 spaces left for committee members.

There used to be a local brew called "MMBA Big Ring Ale" or something like that. It came in plastic bottles, I assume so it could be imbibed freely in our great parks. Tried to pick up a 6-pack for the Kensington fireworks, but couldn't find it anywhere. They still make it?

BTW I believe wingzz is right about alcohol @ Kensington - it's only prohibited at the beaches.

5.2 Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages in certain state parks and recreation areas, prohibited conduct. A person shall not do any of the following:

(1) Possess or consume an alcoholic beverage within the following described locations from April 1 through Labor Day, without written authorization of the park manager:

(a) Fort Custer RA - entire park.
(b) Holly RA - day-use areas south of McGinnis Road.
(c) Island Lake RA - day-use areas of the park.
(d) Seven Lakes SP - entire park.
(e) Maybury SP - entire park.

Since the BBBB is usually after Labor day we could see if there is going to be a problem...which I don't forsee

I believe that any other location other than Lakeshore Park would be unwise - seeing that alcohol is NOT ALLOWED in any DNR or Metropark, but IS ALLOWED AT LAKESHORE PARK.
