Michigan Mountain Bike Patrol

The Michigan Mountain Bike Patrol is a volunteer organization that works to encourage safe & responsible riding. Patrollers provide assistance to hikers, equestrians, and especially mountain bikers. They give information, provide directions, help with minor repairs, and provide first aid. Patrollers are certified in first aid and CPR.

We follow the guidelines and rules set up by the International Mountain Biking Association. You can find out additional information on bike patrols from their website here: http://www.imba.com/nmbp/ This page has an excellent video explaining and talking about the bike patrol more, see this page: http://www.imba.com/nmbp/membership.html.

You ride your own bikes, but while patrolling you would be required to wear a patrol jersey, and carry various items like: first aid kit, maps, spare tubes, air pump, spare water, energy bars, spare bike parts and such.

Mountain bike patrols work in cooperation with land managers to meet the specific needs of their local riding area. Land managers have an increased response time to issues at a park and another set of eyes for trail problems when Patrollers are onsite.

Future clinics will be announced on this web page.
